Scorpion Pendant Necklace

This is a scorpion necklace made by casting bronze into cuttlefish bone. (this picture isn't the best, I'll be able to take a better one when I get him back)

I completed the piece with brass tubing and coated the work in powdercoat to make it safe for skin contact.

Since I made the legs out of tubing I was able to use them to run the wire for the necklace. Added some a glass and some hematite beads and finished it with a bit of dyed leather and a sister hook for a clasp. I went for the asymmetrical necklace ... just cause really.

He's pretty big, almost lifesized, able to take up my whole hand. He weighs just under 4 oz. which is heavy for a pendant, but still comfortable enough to wear. For added fun I didn't completely solder all the joints together meaning his claws and stinger sort of bounce when you move.
